This captivating tale is sure to be a favorite that children will want to read over and over. Knuffle Bunny is Trixie’s special guest for show and tell at preschool that morning. She chatters all the way to school. And then…arrives to find that another girl has a knuffle bunny just like hers. The day ends with disastrous results, although there is a happily ever after ending (in the middle of the night.)
The illustrations in Knuffle Bunny are delightful. They’re colorful and comic, set off against the black and white photographic backgrounds. There’s variety in size and placement, creating a visual interest.
The story keeps readers attention, young and old alike. As an adult reader, I laughed aloud at my favorite line: Trixie’s daddy tried to explain what ‘2:30 a.m.’ means.
When I’m asked, “Read it again,” on this story, I turn back to the first page with pleasure.
