A Dozen Favorite Children’s Christmas Books

Here are a dozen favorite children’s Christmas books. Many are old classics that have been around for a long time. Several are newer. One is a new book this year. Iggy Loo was just released earlier this month and it promises to become a favorite children’s story time book, not only during the holidays, but all through the year. (Come back next week, when we feature an interview with author Maria Ashworth!)

The Night Before Christmas, by Clement C. Moore

The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg

How the Grinch Stole Christmas, by Dr. Seuss

The Legend of the Poinsettia, by Tomie dePaola

Room for a Little One, by Martin Waddell

A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens (Disney version picture book link here)

The Nutcracker, by Susan Jeffers

The Snowman, by Raymond Briggs

Angelina’s Christmas, by Katharine Holabird

Yes, Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus, by Francis P. Church

Olive, the Other Reindeer, by J. Otto Seibold and Vivian Walsh

Iggy Loo, by Maria Ashworth

What are your children’s favorite Christmas stories? Do they have any favorites that I didn’t mention in my own list of favorites?
